Syrian marjoram

Majorana syriaca

Mediterranean and Middle Eastern herb combining oregano's sharpness with marjoram's mildness.

Annual, with a strong spicy aroma and silvery-green hairy leaves. Reaches 40-60 cm.

Prefers a sunny, warm location, light well-drained soil and moderate watering.

Excellent in meat marinades, lamb and poultry, vegetable stews, pizzas and flavoured olive oil. Attractive in terrace pots and herb beds.

Grown in a 12/13 cm pot.
