Vietnamese coriander

Polygonum odoratum / Persicaria odorata - Vietnamese coriander

Aromatic culinary herb with a spicy flavour combining coriander, citrus and pepper notes. Unlike ordinary coriander, it flowers later and can be used throughout the season.

Annual garden plant or houseplant, reaching 30-40 cm. Prefers a warm sunny or partially shaded location, fertile moisture-retaining but well-drained soil and constant moisture.

Use young leaves and shoots fresh in salads, soups, fish and chicken dishes. Not frost-hardy; overwinter on a bright windowsill.

Grown in a 13 cm/1 L pot.
