Curry plant
Helichrysum angustifolia 'Tall Curry' - Curry plant
The leaves have a mild curry fragrance.
However, they are not used as a substitute for curry powder. Young shoots and leaves are often added to Mediterranean dishes, stewed meat, fish or vegetables, giving food a distinctive flavour. The leaves are usually removed before serving.
It has a resinous, slightly bitter aroma, somewhat reminiscent of sage or wormwood.
